A tale of two cities is written by Charles Dickens, one of Americas greatest writers. He was born in 1812 in Portsmouth and died in 1870. He was born poor, but soon after his unhappy childhood he became rich and successful. He also wrote many famous novels, such as oliver twist. Great expectations and so on.
The tale of a tale of two cities was written in 1775. In a room above a tavern in Paris, there was a white-haired man who was busy making shoes. He had been a prisoner in the bastille for 18 years. Now he was a free man, yet he did not know his name, and he did not eat his friends. All he knew was that he had to keep making shoes.
On a bus to Paris, she sat on lucie, the daughter she had never seen before. Lucie brought her father back to London, and, with the love and care of her daughter, he forgot about the past and learned to live as a free man.
Yet during the stormy years of the French revolution, the past was neither lost nor forgotten. And so soon the danger secretly brought lucie and the people she loved back to Paris... There was the horrible death machine - the guillotine waiting for the enemies of France.
The protagonist here is clearly debunking the darkness and corruption of the society at that time.
